Parts commonly needed for the Range Rover (L460)

Parts demand on the L460 is still mainly accident and damage related: headlights and tail-lights, bumpers, grilles, mirrors, wheels, and parking sensors or cameras. Brake pads and discs become relevant as vehicles leave their maintenance plans. Engine and hybrid-system parts are specific to the D350, P530 and P460e, so give us the VIN. Check for open recalls with a Land Rover dealer first, because recall repairs cost you nothing. As the first vehicles leave their plans, service filters, brake parts and air suspension components are likely to become more common requests, and ask us before buying any hybrid-system component so we can confirm the exact part number.

About the Range Rover (L460)

The L460 Range Rover was launched to the South African media in August 2022, with the local range listed in HSE, Autobiography and SV trims and in standard and long wheelbase form, including a seven-seat long wheelbase. Three powertrains were offered: the D350 3.0 straight-six turbodiesel with 257kW, the twin-turbo 4.4 V8 P530 with 390kW and 750Nm, and the P460e plug-in hybrid, which arrived after the launch. Every one of these is a large, heavy and highly electronic vehicle, which shapes the kind of parts it needs. Most L460s in South Africa are still young and many remain on maintenance plans, so parts demand today is modest and focused on accident repair, wheels, tyres-and-brake items and electronics rather than wear-and-tear engine work. It is still worth knowing which systems are covered by local recalls. Jaguar Land Rover South Africa has notified the National Consumer Commission of recalls affecting selected Range Rovers, including an idler pulley concern on the AJ20-D6 diesel and a driver airbag connector concern, and that work is done free at dealers. For anything outside warranty or recall cover, send us your VIN, because trim, wheelbase and powertrain all change the parts that fit.

Known Range Rover (L460) problems

The faults owners and specialists report most often on this generation, and where to look for the parts involved.

AJ20-D6 idler pulley recall

An NCC-published recall covers selected Range Rovers sold from March 2024 to June 2024: the auxiliary belt idler pulley on certain AJ20-D6 diesels can over-rotate and damage the oil pressure and temperature sensor, causing an oil leak. Dealers replace the pulley free.

Recall work is carried out free by Land Rover dealers. Check your VIN with a dealer before buying parts for this.

Driver airbag clockspring connector recall

A June 2026 NCC recall notice covers selected Range Rovers sold from September 2020 to June 2026, where connector corrosion at the clockspring can stop the driver airbag deploying. Inspection and repair are free at dealers.

Recall work is carried out free by Land Rover dealers. Check your VIN with a dealer before buying parts for this.

Keeping a Range Rover (L460) running

Most L460 Range Rovers in South Africa are still young, so maintenance generally follows the dealer service schedule. Before paying for any repair, check with a Land Rover dealer for open recalls: Jaguar Land Rover South Africa has notified the National Consumer Commission of a driver airbag clockspring connector concern affecting selected Range Rovers, and an idler pulley concern on certain AJ20-D6 diesels in vehicles sold from March to June 2024. Recall work is free.
