Understanding Indicators

Indicators show other road users which way you are turning. Land Rovers use front indicators in or near the headlights, side repeaters on the wings or mirrors, and rear indicators in the tail light clusters. On many newer models the side repeaters are built into the door mirrors.

A fast-flashing indicator usually means a bulb or LED on that side has failed. Mirror indicators are easily broken when a mirror is knocked.

Questions

Common Questions About Land Rover indicators

Why is my indicator flashing fast?

Fast flashing normally means one of the lamps on that side has failed, so the system detects a lower load. Check the front, side and rear indicators on that side.

Can I replace just the indicator lens on my mirror?

On many models, the mirror indicator is a separate part that clips into the mirror housing. On others, it is part of the mirror assembly. Check the part for your VIN.

Are side repeater lamps the same on both sides?

Sometimes, but not always. Order by side to be sure.

Do indicators have to work for a roadworthy?

Yes. Roadworthy inspectors check that all the lights work, including the indicators, so a faulty indicator can fail the test.

Not sure which part fits?

Send your VIN or engine code and the SparesBoyz parts team will check fitment before quoting. Parts are couriered nationwide.
