Understanding Left Front Seat
On South African right-hand-drive Land Rovers, the left front seat is the passenger seat. On many modern vehicles it contains an occupant detection system that tells the airbag module whether the seat is occupied. Depending on trim, it may also have electric adjustment, heating, cooling, memory and a side airbag.
Because of these sensors and airbags, a used passenger seat must match the original specification closely, or airbag warnings can result.
