Understanding Right Front Door
On right-hand-drive Land Rovers sold in South Africa, the right front door is the driver's door. It gets the most use, so its hinges, check strap, lock and wiring suffer the most wear. On newer models it also carries the master window and mirror switch pack and, on some models, memory seat controls.
When buying a used driver's door, check the wiring loom and connectors, because they differ with equipment level.

Common Questions About Land Rover right front door
Why does my driver's door sag?
Worn hinge pins or bushes, or a damaged hinge from the door being blown open by wind. Replacing hinge pins or hinges usually cures it, rather than the whole door.
Why do my door electrics fail when I open the door?
Wires in the rubber boot between the door and body flex every time the door opens and can break inside their insulation. Check there before replacing switches or motors.
Does a used driver's door come with the switch pack?
Complete doors may include it, but it varies. Confirm what is included, and note that switch packs differ by model and equipment.
What should I send to order a right front door?
The VIN, paint code, and whether you need a shell or complete door with glass, lock and trim.
