What is specific to the Freelander 1

Many of these parts for the Freelander 1 are specific to the L314 body built over 1998–2006, and some change with the derivative (Td4, Td4 HSE Auto, KV6 3-door).

Have this ready when you enquire

  • The 17-character VIN from your licence document, which identifies your exact L314 (sold here 1998–2006) and its build.
  • The exact derivative, for example Td4, Td4 HSE Auto and KV6 3-door, as listed on your licence document.
  • A photo of the old part or its part number, if you can get to it.

Known Freelander 1 lighting faults

None of the Freelander 1 faults we track fall in this system, so there is no known weak point to warn you about here. Send the part name with your VIN and the team will confirm the right lighting for your vehicle.

Freelander 1 lighting questions

Can I replace just the bulb in a Land Rover LED light?

Usually not. On most LED units the light source is built into the assembly, so a failed LED means replacing the unit or a specific module inside it. Halogen and xenon units still use replaceable bulbs.

Why is there condensation in my Land Rover lights?

A small amount of mist that clears when the lights are on can be normal. Water pooling inside the lamp points to a broken seal, a crack or a missing vent cap, which can damage the electrics.
