Td5 fuel pressure regulator leaking diesel
A diesel leak from the regulator at the rear of the cylinder head runs down the engine and looks like an oil leak. Poor original design means the unit is replaced with a new metal gasket.

Fuel pumps, injectors, tanks and lines for Land Rover diesel and petrol models.
Diesel Discovery 2 derivatives use the 2.5 Td5 five-cylinder turbodiesel. Their pumps, injectors and filters are not shared with the petrol engines.
Petrol derivatives use the V8 petrol.
A diesel leak from the regulator at the rear of the cylinder head runs down the engine and looks like an oil leak. Poor original design means the unit is replaced with a new metal gasket.
Poor starting, poor performance or a noisy pump point to the in-tank pump. Diagnosis needs a fuel pressure test, not just a flow check.
Td5 engine parts, including injector looms, fuel pressure regulators, head gaskets and cylinder heads, follow close behind. In-tank fuel pumps, cooling system hoses and radiators are common needs on high-mileage vehicles in hot inland climates.
Do not start the engine. If you have already driven, stop as soon as it is safe and switch off. Have the tank drained and the system flushed. Running a modern diesel on petrol can damage the high-pressure pump and injectors.
Many modern Land Rovers bleed themselves when the ignition is cycled several times. Older engines may need manual priming. Follow the procedure for your engine, and fix the cause of the air leak.
Share the VIN and engine number and the SparesBoyz parts team will check fitment before quoting.
