Understanding Centre Console

The centre console runs between the front seats and houses the gear selector, armrest and storage cubby, and on many Land Rovers, the controls for Terrain Response, ride height, hill descent and the parking brake. On classic Defenders a cubby box between the seats is a popular addition.

Armrest lids, hinges and catches wear with daily use, and switch panels can fail or wear their markings.

Questions

Common Questions About Land Rover centre console

Can I replace just the armrest lid?

On many models, yes. The lid and hinge are often separate from the console body. Match the colour and material.

Why is my Terrain Response switch not working?

It can be a faulty switch or a fault elsewhere in the system, such as a suspension or transfer case fault that disables Terrain Response. Read the fault codes before replacing the switch.

Does a used centre console fit any trim level?

The shape may be the same, but switch layouts, materials and cup holders vary. Send photos and the VIN to match.

What should I send to order centre console parts?

The VIN, trim colour, and photos of the console and switch panel.

Not sure which part fits?

Send your VIN or engine code and the SparesBoyz parts team will check fitment before quoting. Parts are couriered nationwide.
