Understanding Left Door Panel

The door panel, or door card, is the trim on the inside of the door. It includes the armrest, pull handle, speaker grille, storage pocket and sometimes switches and ambient lighting. On right-hand-drive Land Rovers, the left front door card is on the passenger side.

Door cards are held by plastic clips that break when removed, and behind the card there is a plastic water membrane that must be resealed, or water can leak into the cabin.

Questions

Common Questions About Land Rover left door panel

Why is water getting into my footwell after I removed the door card?

The plastic water membrane behind the card was probably torn or not resealed. Reseal it with suitable adhesive or replace it.

Should I buy new clips when removing a door card?

Yes. Plastic clips often break or lose their grip when removed. Have a set ready before starting.

Can a worn armrest be retrimmed?

Yes. A trim specialist can recover the armrest, which is often cheaper than a complete door card.

What should I send to order a left door panel?

The VIN, trim colour and material, and a photo of the panel showing switches and speaker positions.

Not sure which part fits?

Send your VIN or engine code and the SparesBoyz parts team will check fitment before quoting. Parts are couriered nationwide.
