Understanding Fuses
Fuses protect wiring from overheating when a circuit draws too much current. Land Rovers have fuse boxes in the engine bay and inside the cabin, and on many models in the load space as well. Modern models also use power distribution boxes that combine fuses and relays.
A fuse that blows once can be a one-off, but a fuse that keeps blowing points to a short circuit or failing component. Water getting into a fuse box, often through a blocked drain or a leaking seal, can cause corrosion and strange faults.

Questions
Common Questions About Land Rover fuses
Where are the fuse boxes on my Land Rover?
Most models have one in the engine bay and at least one inside the cabin, often behind a trim panel in the footwell, glovebox or dashboard end. Some models have another in the load space. The owner's handbook shows the locations and what each fuse protects.
Can I fit a higher-rated fuse if it keeps blowing?
No. A higher-rated fuse lets the wiring overheat and can start a fire. Find the fault that is causing the fuse to blow.
Can a wet fuse box be repaired?
Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned, but a fuse box with corroded tracks or burnt terminals should be replaced. Fix the water leak first, or the new box will fail too.
What should I send to order a Land Rover fuse box?
The VIN and the part number on the fuse box label. Fuse boxes vary with equipment level and some contain programmable electronics.
