Understanding Right Rear Door

The right rear door is on the traffic side of South African right-hand-drive vehicles, which makes it more exposed to damage from passing traffic and from opening into parked cars. Complete doors include the glass, regulator, lock actuator and speakers, while shells need all of these transferred.

On Defender 110 station wagons, rear doors use aluminium skins on steel frames and suffer the same frame corrosion as the front doors.

Questions

Common Questions About Land Rover right rear door

What causes a rattle inside a rear door?

Loose trim clips, a detached window regulator part, a loose speaker or an object that has fallen into the door. Remove the door card to check.

Can a dented door be repaired instead of replaced?

Minor dents can often be repaired by paintless dent removal or panel beating. Structural damage or crumpled frames usually mean replacement.

The VIN, paint code and whether you need a shell or complete door.
